San Juan Unified School District - Developer Fees
NOTICE OF CHANGE OF ADDRESS: As of January 2nd, 2013 we will be moving, our new address will be: 5320 Hemlock Street Sacramento, CA 95841 Our phone numbers and email will remain unchanged. San Juan Unified School District, along with the majority of public school districts in California, collects developer impact fees as allowed by Government Code Section 53080. Developer fees are levied on construction projects with district boundaries to offset the cost associated with building or maintaining school facilities. Specifically, developer are required to pay a share of the cost of school construction based on the square footage of each residential, commercial or industrial projects. School districts’ were commissioned with the ability to levy developer fees, for the purpose of building or maintaining school facilities, establishing the maximum rate of fees, under which building permit authorities (County and City Agencies) are prohibited from issuing building permits without certification from the school district that the applicable fee requirements have been met. Current rates are:$2.14 per square foot for residential construction; and, $0.34 per square foot for commercial or industrial construction. Developer Fee Office Hours are:8:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Monday through Friday – excluding District holidays.
