Welcome to the Mighty 6th Grade!
March 15,2010
Dear Parents,
This is, again, a busy time at Mission…
This Wed, Thu, and Fri are minimum days. School will be out at 11:05 on each of those days, for parent conferences.
Speaking of parent conferences, they are voluntary/as needed this time. They are not mandatory and we do not need to meet unless you or I request to. If you would like to have a conference, please call or e me and we’ll set up a meeting on one of the minimum days. If I don’t contact you today, you can assume that I don’t think a conference is necessary. That way, you’ll get your child’s report card when it’s passed out at the scheduled time on Monday the 22nd.
Next week is Open House. I hope that you can come by to see some of the great work our kids have been doing. It will be Thursday afternoon/evening, the 25th, lasting for about two hours. The date is a little on the early side this year, but we’ll have some strong work to show you.
I think that Wednesday the 24th is Spring Picture day, if you wish to participate.
And then the next week is Spring Break!
Our next Parent Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday night, April 13th, in our classrooms. It will be our last parent meeting before the SF fieldtrip.
Tonight’s homework is simple – the students need to fix the mistakes and make the changes that need to be made on their peer biographies to turn them into publishable pages. These are due tomorrow, as it should take only five minutes. We are under the gun, timewise, to get them published and bound for open house… so please make sure they get returned tomorrow. Special prize/Bonus for students who email a copy to me as well. (If your computer typically creates documents as docx., when you save it, choose, on the drop-down file, to save it as a doc. instead.
Have a great week,
Bryon
