News From Miss Mastain's Volcano Class where learning and fun erupt like lava, but nobody gets hurt! Dear Families, Welcome to second grade and room 5! Your child's success and well-being are important to me, as I know they are to you! I believe the most important thing we can do as a teacher-parent team is to keep each other informed about that very special person, YOUR SECOND GRADER! No matter how trivial it might seem, please let me know what's going on with your child. From homework hassles to feeling lonely at lunch, these are problems which can be discussed and solved. Please keep in touch!! I promise to do the same. Thanks for visiting my website! -Miss Mastain Goals and Objectives My goal as an educator is to encourage my students to become life-long, independent learners and caring members of their communities. To that end, my objectives as a second grade classroom teacher are as follows: 1) To provide effective instruction and engaging activities that will help each student to be appropriately challenged so that he/she can make considerable progress in all areas of the second grade curriculum. 2) To create a classroom environment where each child feels welcome, safe, and capable.
