U.S. History
Mr. Cassady
Welcome to Mr. Cassadys web page!! Eighth Grade, U.S. History School Year, 09 - 10
U.S. History in eighth grade covers events nation-wide between the Revolutionary War and World War One. Early in the year we spend some review time covering pre-columbian Native American groups and early colonial America. During our first two weeks we also review some Geography skills. Homework in my class will be given every Friday (some bookwork and two current events) and collected the next Friday. Once a quarter an oral news report will be given in front of the class.
Homework for the week ending Friday, Mar.19th is to read Pages 269 - 283 (chapter 20 questions) in their textbook and answer the questions, given in class (or available in the homework section, left side-bar). H.A. needs to do ALL questions, other classes may choose ANY TWO. Each student must also complete two current events. *Remember, every Friday there are four students who will present a news article to the class orally. You may want to double check the week you (or your student) have signed up for.
*My grades are posted on Zangle....I will update them once a week, usually after homework is due and graded. Thank you.
*The Westward Ho!!! project has been assigned (check side bar). It is due May 7th! ***WESTWARD HO!!! is April 15th!! Git yer gear together, saddle up and ride out to Rancho Arden for a rip-roarin' time!!! Details will follow..... You can contact me at my e-mail address, gcassady@sanjuan.edu
