How to succeed in Spanish class:
Complete all assignments! They provide practice and an opportunity to see if you understand. Correct them when we go over them in class, otherwise you will not know if you made a mistake!
Complete the writing assignments diligently! use a dictionary, check your verb tenses proof read! Do not get in the habit of writing them just before class. Your writing will improve and you will do much better on short answer/ essay tests.
Please do not copy the worksheet answers from your friends, I may not catch you all the time, but it will catch up to you when you take the test. And if I do suspect cheating...you will receive a breach of academic integrity and an F in citizenship!
FLASHCARDS
Make flashcards and use them EVERYDAY! Pick 20 vocabulary words, use the cards to practice, when you master a word, pull it out of the stack and add another.
How to use flashcards-
First- work on recognizing the word, look at the Spanish and say the English
Second- Work on generating the word- look at the English and say the Spanish.
Play flashcard games:
Make one stack in Spanish and one in English and play memory against your friends.
Use the cards to play Password with your friends, describe the word you are trying to guess in Spanish.
Speak Spanish to your friends. Listen to music in Spanish! Watch TV or a favorite DVD in Spanish! Use the close captioning on you TV to read the Spanish as you listen.
