BTV Segment and Job Assignments
As a student in the Bulldog Television class, you must participate in either one job or one segment EACH WEEK! You may rotate jobs and segments each week!
Segments
Weather - (3 students)
Weekly weather will air every Friday. You must do a weekend forecast into the middle of the following week. One person will fill, one will direct, and one will host.
Top Bulldog - (3 students)
Teachers will e-mail you about students that have unique skills. For example, there may be a student on campus who is a fantastic swimmer and they just placed first at a big meet over the weekend. You must create at least 4 questions, pull the student out of class, interview the student, and edit the material.
Office Announcements - (2 students)
You must find creative ways to film, edit, and air the office announcements on BTV.
Upcoming Events at Churchill - (2 students)
Let our campus know what is coming up during the week. This segment should air at the beginning of the week ... No Later Than Wednesday! Some things that could be announced are picture days, magazine sales, red ribbon week, rainy days for PE, assemblies, club live, Bridges, AR announcements, etc.
Student Council Corner - (2 students)
Let our campus know when the next spirit day, school dance, and rally is coming.
Sports (BSPN) - (2 students)
Announce when and where the next Churchill sporting event is taking place. Interview at least one student who participates on one of Churchill's sporting teams per week.
Contests - (2 - 3 students)
Create a school wide contest. For example, during red ribbon week, film students saying "red ribbon week" fast 5 times. Another example would be to have a contest to see who could lip-sing an 80's song for one minute. The finalists would air on BTV and the school could vote for the winner.
Spoofs & Short Skits - (2 - 3 students)
Take any current TV show and make it yours! Make a spoof about a current event. Random facts, this day in History, etc.
Jobs
You-Tube Page - 2 Students
Create and upload daily BTV shows onto page. Must check EVERYDAY for inappropriate comments etc.
Student Council Page - 1 student
You will update the student council page with pictures, video, meeting dates, etc. This must be done at least 2 - 3 times a week.
Announcements - 2 students announcing, 1 student filming
Each week two students will host the BTV show while one other student records your announcements. The first half of class you will film and the second half of class you will edit your announcements. You will also choose an APPROPRIATE Background to be used with the green screen.
Show Editing - 2 students
You will be in charge of editing the final BTV show on the large iMac. You must compile every fully edited skit from each computer and import it onto the iMac. You may use iMovie HD, iMovie 08, or Final Cut Express.
Extra Curricular Journalist
Take a camcorder to an after school sporting event, dance, or a lunchtime activity and film the highlights. Edit the highlights in class to be aired on BTV.
