Welcome to 7th grade World History and Wood Shop at Louis Pasteur Middle School.  I am looking forward to a successful year for all of my students. I have been teaching for over twenty years, most of them here at Louis Pasteur. My passions in life are my family and baseball.  I am a father of two who has had one child graduate from UCSB and another that just graduated from Berkeely in 3 1/2 years and is now dancing on scholarship in LA.  (sorry for bragging) I have been a baseball coach at various levels for many years and the last eleven at Casa Roble High School.   I always have high expectations for my students just as I did for my kids and my baseball teams and hopefully the students will be just as successful.
The World History program covers the span of history from the fall of the Roman Empire through the period of Reformation.  Learning about the history of various cultures will help our students better understand their place in history and better prepare them for the global nature of our world today.
Wood Shop is one of three electives in our exploration rotation.  The students will complete many projects in the shop class before moving to another elective at the semester.  The students will learn basic safety and tool use in the shop and hopefully foster a pride in workmanship that is much needed in today's workplace.  There is also an advanced wood shop this year.  The students in the advanced class will remain in the class for the entire year as long as it remains mutually beneficial for the student and the teacher.
