Well, we've made it through the first 4 weeks of school and things are moving right along.  Our planners are being used nightly to notify you of homework and as an opportunity for you to communicate with us.  Please sign the planner every night and ask to see your student's homework as it is listed in the planner.

Our first Accelerated Reader goal ended last Friday and the second goal period began this Monday, October 5, 2009.  This second goal period will last for 6 weeks. Many students made their goals this very first time.  Congratulations!  Please watch for the AR folders to come home on Mondays with each student's updated goals and points.  Sign the folders and return by Friday.

We are making great progress in our math class, and have covered the 'Critical' lessons in 4 chapters so far.  We are following the District Pacing Guide, which has us moving past some lessons, in order to cover them later in the year.  This way, we cover all critical, and new information before testing in the spring.

We want to thank everyone that came to Open House, as well as attended and/or volunteered at the Fall Festival.  Your support means so much and the students love the involvement.

Our Pod D Directory is complete and will be coming home in this week's Thursday folders.  All students that turned in information sheets, or e-mails, have been included.

Lastly, we sent a Book Order home in last Thursday's folder and orders will be due by October 16.  We have registered this order so that parents can place the order from home with a credit card.  By using this method, you can avoid sending the book order slip and a check to the classroom for processing.  We do, however, still accept book orders this way as well.
