Exploratorium Field Trip Recap
Last week 260 Churchill 8th graders took a trip to the Exploratorium in SF. Thank you to the 25 parents that volunteered their valuable time to chaperone this trip, we couldn't have done it without you. I spoke to many students that hadn't been to the Exploratorium EVER and many others that hadn't been since they were little kids. I also know of a fair amount of kids that had never been to SF before and never traversed the Golden Gate Bridge. Once again, thank you to students and parents for helping make this trip a success.
About Mr. Jungk
This is my 9th year teaching middle school Science. My entire teaching carreer has been here at Churchill (except for half a year at Arden MS) and I can't think of teaching anywhere else. Before entering the teaching profession, I worked in parks and recreation. Over the years I've taught 7th and 8th grade Science, IB 8th Science and even a study skills class. This is my 7th year teaching IB 8th Science. I am a graduate of Sac State University (1999) with a Biology degree. I also did my teacher credential classes at Sac State. In addition to Sac State, I've done coursework at ARC and UC Davis. I was a swimmer in college and now I spend a lot of time coaching swimming at the Glen Oaks Swim and Tennis Club. I also coached the Folsom HS and more recently the Del Campo HS swim teams. At Churchill I supervise the chess club and serve as co-head coach for the Science Olympiad team. My wife, Mrs. Masse, is also a Science teacher here at Churchill. We live in Carmichael with our 3 year old son Brendan and our new edition Chloe. Activities/ Interests outside of work and family: reading, working with technology, sci-fi movies, military history, coaching swimming...

Jungk's Study Tips
* Make Vocabulary Flash Cards * Re-read or even re-write your class notes * Start studying 2-3 days prior to a test/ quiz. * Do selected practice probs from chapters, write out solutions * Review appropriate links on Jungk's Web Site * Study in a quality location, No: texting, cell phones, IM, TV, IPOD, friends, noise etc. * Study with class mates but stay on task! * Write your own sample questions.
