In the last few years there have been a significant amount of physical changes to Del Campo High School.  Lucky for us up here in the front of the school a great majority of these changes have been in the physical Education Department. 
Let us start with our main gym.  In 2004 the walls of the gym were re painted and the floor was  re-striped and refinished with a new more modern logo at center court.
We then move out to Cougar Canyon.  We did it.....You did it....We finally raised enough money to get the stadium lights our hard working students deserved.  In the Fall of 2008 our cougars played the first football season under lights.
After the lights, came the pool deck.  In the Winter of 2009 the entire pool deck was removed and put back brand new.  If you come here on a rainy day this pool deck could be the driest place on campus, do to the new and improved drainage system on the deck. 
In the Spring of 2009 reconstruction of Del Campo's face began.  Working hard through the summer, constructions crews have completely changed the appearance of Del Campo as we know it.  On top of building a new Gym, they have added numerous walk ways and sit rails to the front of the campus.  They have set up the area in a very "socially friendly" manner to accommodate more students in a central area.
The most exciting news for me is that after 4 years of work the Del Campo weight room is finally complete. In Spring of 2009 we completed a $60,000 dollar renovation, receiving all new gear and racks in the weight room.  We now have 2 complete weight rooms.  One room would be considered a "power lifting" room while the main room, which is the major focus of the program is a wide open functional "strength and conditioning" room.
With all these improvements in the physical education area we are showing our students and community that we believe in health and fitness.  We are trying to give our students the best chance we can to stay healthy.  Del Campo physical education strives to stay ahead of all others.  We want to be at the cutting edge of fitness.  We are here for these students to become better human beings. 

In the future what else can we expect to see:

• A new strength and conditioning building
• An all weather track
• Turf fields?
