I am the 7th/8th grade Resource Specialist, and I teach 7th grade pre algebra and pre algebra intervention I also have one period of Directed Studies to support the RSP students. This website is designed to provide you with the latest information for my classes.
Math Block- We are reviewing basic processes in arithmetic and we are introducing pre algebra concepts. Students have been receiving remediation in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We continue to review fractions and decimals as we prepare for higher-level pre algebra concepts. We have done some fun activities designed to enrich your child's math experience, including creating their own menus, and designing, conducting and presenting their own surveys. Homework is done primarily in class.
Pre Algebra- We have covered the first two chapters in the pre algebra text covering principles of algebra and rational numbers. We are currently in chapter three, which addresses multi-step equations and inequalities. Students have their own text books and workbooks, and we will be working primarily out of them for the remainder of the year. Next up, chapter four "Exponents and Roots." Homework is given on a daily basis, and students are expected to complete it within the allotted time given.
