ANNOUNCEMENTS

Accelerated Reader - Students are required to read THREE AR books in the second trimester and pass the corresponding comprehension test with a score of 80% or higher. The books they select should be within their reading range. They are encouraged to challenge themselves with books that may be a bit higher than their range...but be careful...test scores must be 80% or higher to count. Books below their range will not count towards their required two. This task is part of each child's Language Arts Standard 2/3 grade. Students who do not read two books and pass at least two tests, will see their Standard 2/3 grade negatively affected :(

Week of March 1 - Math Benchmark Test This Week
Includes chapters 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Review will take place the previous week
and the beginning of the test week.
March 5th - Field Trip to the B Street Theater
March 17-19 - Minimum Days

FOR PERSONAL USE
Colored Pencils (box of 24)
Colored Crayons (box of 16)
Large Glue Stick
Highlighter Pen
Dry erase marker (fine point)
Small Zipper Style Pencil Bag/Slim Box (Standard boxes will not fit)
5 Two Pocket Folders
* Different colors/design
1 Additional Two Pocket Folder
A regular 1 ½ inch binder with a clear view cover-No zip arounds
Plenty of #2 Pencils
Pencil sharpener with a receptacle to catch the shavings
A good eraser (Magic Rub brand recommended)
Protractor
Math Compass
2 red ball point pens

5 LARGE PAPER GROCERY BAGS –These will be used to cover our books. We will cover 1-2 in class together, and the rest will be done at home within the first days of school.

FOR CLASSROOM USE
Unscented Facial Tissue (2 boxes)
Unscented Moist Wipes (baby wipes) or Hand Sanitizer
Cleaning Wipes (like Clorox or Lysol wipes)
Gallon and/or quart sized ziplock bags
#2 Pencils – We can never have enough!

FOR AT HOME USE
Pencils                         Wide ruled binder paper (not from a notebook)
A good eraser                                     Colored pencils/crayons
