School Year 2009-2010

The 2nd trimester has begun. The week of December 7th-11th will be parent conferences. The month of December will be a busy month. In language arts we are focusing on the comprehension skills making judgments and topic,main idea, and details. We will continue to also write two times a week. In math we are finishing chapter 4 Money and also chapter 9 Geometry while continuing to practice addition and subtraction with regrouping. In science we will be working on investigation 4 soil exploration. Students will be planting narcissus bulbs and watching them grow. In social studies students will be making a time-line of their lives.

It is important that your child continues to read his or her assigned story each night to a grown-up. Many students have been reading more books at their level and taking computer comprehension tests. I highly encourage this and have been rewarding students for this. Math homework should be continuing to come home. There is a front and back to complete.
