Online Grades

Parents: Good news! If you can get to this website, you can get to Zangle!

If you have never picked up your Zangle password, please go to the Attendance Office any school day (7:00 - 3:30) to get one.  You'll need to bring a photo ID.

If you have some sort of hardship that prevents you from coming to school during the school day (or if you LOST your pin/password), please contact Mrs. Miller or Mrs. Davis to make other arrangements.

Important Information for Parents:

Zangle can be a great tool for helping you keep up with your son/daughter's grades, but please be aware that you are seeing a process that normally takes place "offline."  We all want what's best for the students, but please keep the following guidelines in mind as you use the program:
  • You are seeing a work-in-progress. This is ESPECIALLY important to remember during the first grading periods in each semester.  There are many (MANY) more assignments, quizzes, tests, and essays coming up, and each time one is put in, all the other grades are worth just a little bit less.  So the test that seems to be weighing down your son or daughter's grade right now will not weigh so much next week, and will weigh even less by the end of the semester!
  • Please understand that I DO CARE about each student's progress, but it is in no one's best interest if you e-mail me EVERY TIME you see a low score on Zangle.  As I've mentioned before (to some of you individually, and generally in other situations), what you want to look for are PATTERNS -- if your son or daughter is scoring low on more than a couple of quizzes, then it might be time to consider altering study habits.
  • That being said, I also need to let you all know that it is not feasible for me to respond to each and every request that you send me for clarification of assignments, grades, etc.  There are only so many hours in my day, and I need to spend SOME time planning those "wonderful" lessons! :-)  So, before you e-mail me, please have your son/daughter show you the assignment/test/quiz (they can get them from their class folder any time), and take a moment to go over the work with them FIRST.  You'll be surprised at how much you can learn about what was involved, how much it was worth, etc.  If you still need clarification after that, feel free to e-mail me, but please understand that I will only be able to respond as quickly as my schedule allows.
  • Finally, here is a link (there's also one at the bottom of this page) to a handout that Mr. Thompson (Geography; World History) created about study habits.  Some of you have already received this via e-mail, as it has become the "general" response I send when parents (or students) ask me how the students can study "better."  Please take the time to look at it before you ask me what your child can do to improve his or her study habits.  It will save us both a lot of time and energy! Thanks!
  • I certainly don't want you to get the impression that I don't care about your child. I do, but I have a professional obligation to 164 other students as well, and I'm only one person.  So please bear with me, and together we can make this a productive year. :-)
