AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.  The students in AVID come from all different backgrounds--academically, socially, economically, and ethnically.  As part of the AVID family, they know ALL students have the ability to learn and that the most successful people in the world are the ones who refuse to give up, even in the face of adversity.
