With a few delicious days of sunshine to warm our hearts, we can weather the storms ahead and dream of spring! We are coming to the end of the second trimester of 3rd grade and the children are thriving! They will have completed the District benchmark testing by Monday afternoon and will settle back into our daily routine. All of the children felt that they did well on the testing and that is a very good sign! STAR testing will begin directly after Spring Break so this Benchmark experience has been very good for the children!

With our piggy toes posed to dip into our final months of school, I am hoping that the push to invest in learning becomes your child's daily chant! There is a new awakening to AR with the "not-so-subtle" reminder I sent home last week!
All of a sudden, everyone is reading again! That little push has been a huge success for all of the children. Hopefully we will see that same jump start cross the curriculum for all of the children as we end the year with a bang!

Watch for a Parent Conference Schedule to come home this week. I will need to meet with a few families to discuss academic and behavioral issues which can become target areas for our 3rd trimester of school. As you know, there will be no summer school available in San Juan Unified due to budget cuts. (Some school libraries will be open for limited access by students.) Although Conferences are not required, I will send schedules home to every family. You are more than welcome to meet with me even if your child is comfortably meeting or exceeding all of the state standards!

Please be certain to check our web page weekly for updates and timely information! The children need to have all of the supplies listed on the Newsletter pages over the past few weeks. Please get those supplies in ASAP! Thank you for all that you do to help the learning take place!
