Recipe for 3rd Grader

Recipe for 3rd Grader
Recipe for a Yummy 3rd Grade Year

Step 1:
Gather together 30 freshly picked 3rd graders...
Add one creative, fun loving teacher
Gently drop them all into one amazing 3rd grade classroom
Let the flavors mix together for the entire first day of school.

Step 2:
Take several packages of award winning literature
Lightly spoon in carefully blended "Writer's Workshop"
Stir in "Readers Workshop" at the height of its seasonal peak
Mix in a quart of "hands on" Foss Science
Add a dash of Social Studies and a pinch of cursive.
Carefully knead in the 6 Traits of Writing and allow to rise.

Step 3:
Thaw one large package of "Good Manners"
Whisk in one pound of pure joy!
Add to the classroom...along with technology to taste!
Slowly add in ladles and ladles of laughter
Mix together carefully and allow flavors to soak together.

Step: 4
Blend all of the ingredients listed above
Add in equal parts curiosity and patience
Beat together on "high" until most of the chunks of inappropriate behavior have dissolved.
In a separate bowl...sift in a gallon of risk taking
Gently sprinkle in the desire to learn.

Step 5:
Slowly combine all of the ingredients
Squeeze on a thick layer of artistic genius
Add a sprinkle of theater, music and dance
Pour into one giant year long pan
Bake in the giggles of a fully delicious classroom of 3rd graders..
and serve!
