Room 12 ~ This is our Home Page
Fifth grade is SO much fun!
Hard to believe that we're zipping into Spring all ready! That means we're working on The Living Museum, starting our State Reports and getting ready for our California State Achievement Tests. Oh boy!
The Living Museum is a huge project that we do every year. Students work to become famous Americans by studying the details of their life. They paint backdrops, find props and develop costumes that will create an interesting Museum display. It's fascinating to talk with Dolly Madison, Henry Ford or Davy Crockett! The Museum will be on March 25 from 8:30 to 11:30. It's open to the public and we'd love to have you come and join us. Every student in Room 12 has their own state! They chose that state at the beginning of the year and wrote letters to Governors to get information and personalized pictures. Now, they'll be using that information! The first step will be organizing things into notes. Next, students will write an essay on their own State's history. They will also be doing internet research on interesting places to visit in their State. All of this goes together to create a State report. The final steps will be drawing and coloring State flags, State seals, and State symbols.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Harbarger
