Welcome to the homepage for Mr. Michael Mahoney. I teach AP English Literature and Composition (three sections), yearbook and  journalism (newspaper) at Rio Americano High School in  Sacramento, California.

Advanced Placement English students:
Get either A Clockwork Orange or In Cold Blood. Read the first 30 pages over break and write two journal pages: journal page one is your analysis of the the first two pages of the book and page two is your thoughts about the rest of the reading. We will use these journals as a spring board to student led discussion.

Please keep up with reading. A large number of students fell behind as we read Pride and Prejudice and Wuthering Heights. This makes it impossible discuss the works and also severely lowers your class participation grade.

Journalism students:
Meet those deadlines.

Parents: Don't forget the diapers to diploma deadline is right after Thanksgiving break.
