My Home Page The third quarter is winding down rapidly! All absent and/or missing assignments must be turned in by Friday, 3/19. The last day for AR tests will be Tuesday, 3/23. Students who have not reached at least 70% of AR goal were given "pink slips" today that require a parent signature. Grammar Unit 4 Pronoun Test Repair (due Tuesday): Correct the problems you missed on the yellow sheet. On binder paper, write out an explanation of the correction (why your new answer is correct). Then, write out why you missed it ("I didn't know what an indefinite pronoun is...") The pink test, the yellow corrected test, and the binder paper explanation are due on Tuesday. Tuesday, March 2nd is the California State Writing Standards test for all seventh grade students. This is an untimed essay test, with an unannounced prompt. Students may be asked to write a persuasive, response to literature, or fictional/autobiographical narrative essay. We won't know until the test is administered - it's a secret! Please encourage your child to get a good night's sleep, eat a nutritious breakfast, and breathe!! Thank you! Hello students - Just a friendly reminder about the content of tomorrow's grammar test! Dear Parents, Grades for the progress report were cut off with assignments though 2/18. Please note that the grade on the progress report may differ from what is visible on the Parent Portal. The Parent Portal view is a LIVE look into a teacher's gradebook. Thus, assignments may have been posted since grades were submitted. Also, it is not too late to turn in missing assignments or bring up citizenship grades! Spring seems to have sprung early! Please check your child's Binder Reminder along with the course websites for homework, and check the Zangle Parent Portal to see how your child is performing. For missing assignments, please remind your child to check the no name board for his/her class period. Remember, AR is 20% of your child's grade - so an 80% now will become a 60% at the end of the quarter if AR goals are not met. The AR deadline for third quarter is Tuesday, 3/23. New point goals will be set with your child. Your child should be reading and logging at least 30 minutes of reading time per day in addition to AR time at school - including vacation times. (Students can log the class novel.) Tests are to be completed during 5th period AR time (every day except Thursday), or in English class as time permits. The halfway point for the quarter is 2/12, and the quarterly due date for completion of the AR goal is March 24, 2010. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
