The Bridges After-School Program offers five basic components.
1. Academic Support- This is known for our homework time. The academic support component is implemented a minimum of one hour per day and consist of homework assistance and reading.
2. Enrichment/Disguised Learning- The enrichment component is implemented on a daily basis for about and hour. Enrichment consist of: nutrition, art, mathematics, science, reading, and other topics that are complementary to traditional school day instruction.
3. Pro-Social Skills/ Recreation- The recreation component is implemented in a minimum hour a day. It consist of structured indoor and outdoor activities designed to promote team building and increase student self-esteem.
4. Technology - Technology is infused throughout the program model enhancing homework support, academic skill building and a variety of encrichment activities. Program participants use computers to experience multimedia applications involving music, video and photography.
5. Parent Support and Empowerment- A parent orientation is provided at the beginning of every year. We give parents the opportunity to ask questions and get to know the staff. Throughout the school year Bridges plans Family Nights to encourage parents to participate and be involved in their students lives.
