What do you earn?
JROTC ribbons and rank for participation in JROTC academic and extra-curricular events. With two years of ROTC you can enlist in the military with one stripe and additional years have you qualify for additional stripes as well as National Awards.
What kind of credits will you earn?
JROTC is counted as an elective course so you will earn ten elective credits per semester.
What is the cost?
There is no course fee. Books, uniforms, and equipment are all free. However there is a $75 fee that pays for Physical Training (PT) clothes. Also your blue uniform must be dry cleaned and turned in at the end of the school year. Additionally, JROTC sponsored events, such as the Military Ball and Dining Out, take place in the fall and spring respectively. Fundraising projects are conducted to help defray costs.
What are the qualifications?
You must be a high school student, physically fit, and of high moral character.
What is fun about it?
Be a part of a group that accepts you, a group with great pride. Also participate in our sports events such as: softball, volleyball, chess, bowling, soccer, etc. Or compete in one of our special teams such as: Honor Guard, Color Guard/Drill Team, Rocketry, and many other activities. We also have two annual events that are purely cadet run and honor outstanding cadets one of which is Dining Out that has national awards and the other is Military Ball which honors school and core awards. We also have optional field trips, flights, and summer "Boot Camp."
