8th Grade U.S Histrory
Welcome to Mr Marrongelli's History. I have been teaching here at Sylvan Middle School for 10 years and I'm very excited to be teaching U.S History this year. 8th grade students will learn about American Colonies, Revolution, Constitution, Expansion, and Industrialization. They will make connections between past historical figures and events and how they shape our country today. In the end students will have a greater understanding and appreciation of our country and the importance of citizenship. 7th grade students will learn about and explore the relationships between many different civilizations and cultural time periods. The course examines Rome, Middle Ages, Crusades, Islam, Renaissance, Reformation and the Scientific Revolution. Then the ancient cultures of China, Japan, Africa, and ends across the Atlantic with the Aztec, Inca and Mayan civilaztions. Students should have a greater understanding of the world we live in and how we arrived here. Homework Homework is assigned on Monday and collected on Friday. All student should have the homework assignments for the week written in their agendas. If a student is absent it is their resposibility to get the homework from me. Materials All students are expected to come to class prepared to learn with all their materials. Students need to have pens, pencils, a 5 subject notebook 8.5 by 11.5 and their agendas. Grades Student grades are based on tests, interactive notebooks in class, homework and class participation. A=100-90% B=89%-80% C=79%-70% D=69%-60% F=59%-0%
