Mrs. B

"A generation which ignores history has no past and no future."
 Robert Heinlein

Welcome to an exciting year of history in Mrs. B's class! Please use this site to keep up with activities and events going on in your class.

About Me:
I am a graduate of UC Davis with a BA degree in History and a BA degree in psychology. I truly enjoy being a teacher and sharing my love of history with my students!
I am a firm believer in a classroom that incorporates & encourages multi-modality learning.  Be prepared for a great hands on approach to history made possible by our TCI text book adoption.   We as a history department focus both on project based learning interspersed with traditional strategies.

What you'll learn (8th):

The eighth grade year explores the creation and birth of our nation.  We take a linear approach while linking the broader historic themes across the centuries.

13 Colonies (September)
American Revolution (October)
U.S. Constitution (November)
Government (December)
Westward Movement (January)
Civil War (February/March))
Reconstruction (March/April)
Industrial Revolution (May)

What you need for my class:

1.  Spiral Notebook- provided by student.
2.  Text Book:  History Alive! The United States Through Industrialism
3.  Work Book- provided by teacher.

4. Other Supplies:  Colored pens or pencils, highlighter, red correcting pen, loose binder paper.

Please feel free to contact me anytime!
