Introduction to Computer Applications

Exploratory Computers: Students rotate in and out of this class on a 13 week cycle. ($5.00 class materials fee)
What to Expect? Each day students begin the class with approximately 15 minutes of online typing practice (http://www.keyboardingonline.com ). Next, students work at their own pace, with certain assignments due every week. If students complete required assignments by Friday, they earn a FREE DAY. Students who need the extra time and teacher individualized support, get to catch up on Fridays.
What applications do we learn? We do assignments using Microsoft Office 2007, with online tutorials. We use Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint. The culminating activity involves making a video game, or using other available free online programs to design an individual presentation.
