Beginning Band Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 2:30-3:30pm Advanced After School Ensemble Tuesday: 2:30-3:30, Thursday: 1:15-2:15 GarageBand Elective Monday-Friday: 6th period Elective Dear Parents and Students, I am thrilled to be back at Woodside again this year. If you are new to Woodside Band, make sure you read through the welcome packet given out during Woodside's Back to School Night. Extra Copies of this packet are available here. This packet gives information on instrument rentals, borrowing an instrument from the district, book required for band, practice logs, and a FAQ page. Please return the required signed pages to your student's classroom teacher, main office, or Ms. Williams as soon as possible. Deadlines will be posted later this month. If you were a part of the Woodside Band family last year you will soon notice that a few changes have been made with two bands rehearsing after school from 2:30-3:30; Beginning Band and the new Advanced After School Ensemble. This new Advanced Ensemble was formed since we have many advanced players still too young to be part of the 7th-8th grade Advanced Band. This group will have the opportunity to perform at the school assembly as well as Barnes & Noble (date TBD). We hope to add an additional off-campus performance to the calendar soon. Beginning Band, Advanced After-school Ensemble, and Advanced Band will have two mandatory concerts; The Winter Showcase, December 16th, and The Spring Finale and Awards Ceremony, May 26th. Practicing for all ensembles is mandatory and students showing effort on practice reports will be awarded at the end of the year concert. Looking forward to a great year of music, Ms. Williams
