The safety of students, staff, guests and community members is a top priority for Bella Vista. Our district has always had security protocols in place to ensure a safe learning environment. These protocols were updated in light of recent events, and additional measures, along with improved communication are in the works.
Attention 8th grade parents: Registration for students attending Bella Vista in the fall will be held on April 19 and 26. A parent/guardian must attend with the student. You will receive a registration packet by mail the first week of April. Please complete the packet and take it to your assigned session. Questions? San Juan Unified has scheduled the adoption of new social science materials in grades K-11. This process will occur in the 2018-2019 school year, with full implementation of the new materials in the 2019-2020 school year.
From moments of silence in honor of the Parkland, FL victims, to paper chains containing ways to better the world, San Juan Unified students worked together with staff to develop activities where they could share their views on school safety.
The tragic events in Parkland, FL have created high levels of anxiety and concern for students, families, staff and community around the safety of our schools. Maintaining a safe environment that allows students and staff to focus on learning is a top priority of San Juan Unified schools.
