COVID-19 Testing

  • COVID-19 testing is an important tool to help detect and prevent the spread of the virus. All students and staff age 4 and above are encouraged to test for COVID-19 once every other week even if they've been vaccinated. This is known as screening testing and can help to detect early infections and those that are asymptomatic before they spread to others.

In some situations, testing may be required. These include:

    • After someone who has experienced symptoms consistent with COVID-19 wishes to return to school or work but has not secured a medical professional's note or completed the required 10-day waiting period from the onset of symptoms.
    • Participants are involved in some optional activities.

San Juan Unified has worked to increase access to COVID-19 testing with free options available to all students and staff.

Daily testing through San Juan Unified

  • San Juan Unified is offering drop-in COVID-19 testing for students (starting at 4 years old), staff and approved volunteers. No appointment is needed. If you haven't tested with the district before, preregister at www.sanjuan.edu/preregister to expedite your wait time at a testing location. Registration is only required once and there is no need to register if testing again at a district location.
