Dear Mira Loma Parents, Students and Community,
We are nearly finished with our second semester. It seems as though it just started and now we are almost at graduation!
In athletics this spring season, we are so proud of boys’ volleyball for making playoffs. This is the newest sports team that Mira Loma has, and they are better each year. Congratulations boys.
We have also continued to be competitive academically. Our Speech and Debate and our Future Business Leaders of America team have had multiple award winning students at regionals who will be going to the national finals this summer. Our Science Bowl Team just came back from Washington DC, where Coach, James Hill led the team to another top ten finish coming in 7th in the nation. Science Olympiad will be headed to NY to compete in the national tournament. Good luck team!
Parents, it’s not too late to give us your feedback from Back to School Night. You should have received an email with a link to a quick 6 question survey. Please look for the email from me and send in your responses. We are always trying to improve in our outreach and communication, and your feedback is important to us as we plan for next year.
We continue to experience problems with our parking and student drop off since the close of our east staff parking lot. During this time of construction we are strongly urging parents to drop off and pick up in the back of campus. Remember, it is a one way drive entering on Norris by the softball fields, and drop off is to take place in the parking lot on the west side of campus, then an easy exit at the four way stop on Becerra allowing drivers to turn in any direction. Our front drive simply can’t accommodate the number of student drop offs that used to take place in the east lot. Additionally, it is illegal to make U-turns in the middle of the street on Edison or Norris. Thank you for setting a good example for our young drivers and following all the rules of the road.
Lastly, congratulations to our seniors who will soon be graduating and moving on to careers or college. We are so proud of you, and wish you all the best in all your future endeavors.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us.
