• Rio Americano High School Pilot Dress Code

         The dress code is established to promote a positive, psychologically safe, and appropriate learning environment.  

     

     

    A. Prohibited Clothing/ Accessories

    1. Clothing, accessories, jewelry or personal items (backpacks, hats, purses, athletic bags, water bottles, etc.) shall be free of writing, pictures, insignia or other symbols which are crude, vulgar, profane or sexually suggestive; or which reference pornography, drugs, alcohol or tobacco; or which advocate racial, ethnic, or religious prejudice and gang affiliation or representation;

    2.  Clothing or accessories that depicts weapons or promotes violence;

    3. Clothing or accessories considered by school officials or law enforcement to denote gang lifestyle or affiliation, cult affiliation, satanic reference, profanity, or contempt for any race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.  This includes writing, insignias, etc. on backpacks and hats;

     

    B. Specific Clothing Restrictions

    1. Shoes must be worn at all times; house slippers may not be worn;

    2. Undergarments may not be exposed, with the exception of bra or bralette straps.  Boxer shorts and sports bras should not be worn as outerwear

    3. The torso must be covered; bare midriffs, backs, or cleavage must not be exposed; Tops & pants, skirts or shorts should remain in contact while engaging in normal school activities.

    4. Strapless tops including tube tops are not permitted; this includes backless tops and see-through clothing. This also applies to dresses and other similar garments;

    5. Skirts and shorts must completely cover the buttocks and not reveal any undergarments when sitting or standing; swimsuits are not permitted.                    

    6. Sagging or the appearance of sagging is not permitted. Belts may not hang down from the waist. 

    C. Specific Accessory Restrictions

     

    1.  Spiked jewelry of any type is prohibited.
