I knew I wanted to be a teacher once I met my 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Harper. I had a difficult time learning to read. She worked endlessly with me until one day I finally got it! She made learning fun and rewarding for me. I grew up in Chico, California. I received my Bachelor's Degree in education at Chico State in June, 1992. In 2002, I received my Master's Degree in educational administration at National University. I put off teaching while raising my two children Cody and Baily. Baily's first day of kindergarten was my first day of teaching. I started at Woodside Elementary teaching Kindergarten in 1997. I then moved to Del Dayo where I have taught now for 24 years. I have taught Kindergarten, 4th, 5th, and 2nd grade. My two children, who are now 28 and 31, both attended Del Dayo. In my personal life I love hike, read, grow succulents, kayak, and spend time with my husband, Steve. We also spend time in our cabin in Arnold where we hike and enjoy exploring the towns in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains. One of our favorite places to spend time exploring and hiking is Point Reyes. We just love the ocean. I enjoy scary movies and books. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors.
