Hello, I am Steve Markley, please call me Mr. Markley. We will be seeing each other 5 days a week for the next 10 months. Since, I am sure I will be finding out quite a bit about you, let me give you an idea of who I am.
I am an EC alumnus class of '02. To answer the question that most likely popped up in your mind, yes it was a bit weird my first year working at EC.Educational BackgroundAs a student @ EC, I was very active in the band program including being the 5th EC Band Screaming Eagle. I graduated with honors. After EC, I attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, where I majored in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology. As an undergrad, I helped to develop genetic marker labs for high school classroom. Following my tenure at Cal Poly, I earned my teaching credential through CSUS and my Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction through the American College of Education in the spring of 2015.Markley's Life Outside of the Classroom:
I am a gamer (Board, Video, PC, and starting to get into Table Top).
Thanks to my wife and my in laws, I have gotten into archery and bow hunting. I haven't caught a deer yet, however, if the Earth gets invaded by target blocks or hay bales, I can hold my own. They also introduced me to Leather Crafting, which I have found to be very relaxing (see example below). As for sports:I played soccer for 15 years (I am looking to join a league) and I am still a big fan of the sport (no specific team other than the US National Teams).
Like the rest of my family, I am a 49ers fan, so if you are wearing Raiders or really any other team, I'll probably poke a little fun at you (Don't take it personally, I know that the niners haven't exactly been that great as of late).
