Summer School

  •
Summer school is an important intervention program for students who are behind in core subject course credits, and are at risk of not graduating. Students may also enroll in summer school if they have an impacted high school program (cannot take all core subjects needed) due to specialized program courses. Specialized programs are listed below *. Space is limited due to budgetary constraints, and ten credits is the maximum allowed (five per session or one semester equivalent). Two absences in summer school will result in the student being dropped and no credit earned.

Summer School 2019 is offered onsite at Del Campo High School this year, and transportation is available from Encina to Del Campo, but not from El Camino. Independent study summer school is also offered at Will Rogers Middle School. If your student has signed up, please encourage them to go regularly to complete their course(s). 10th and 11th graders needing English or History also have an opportunity to take a class through Intersession program at El Camino instead of 1st session at Will Rogers or Del Campo. The dates are June 17-July 5, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-2:00pm.

The dates for summer school are (Session 1): June 17 - July 5, 2019 and (Session 2): July 8 - July 26, 2019. All classes will be held from 8:00am-2:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Additional information can be found on the District Summer School page: https://www.sanjuan.edu/Page/41806

NOTE:  If the student failed the second semester of the subject as well as the first it is his/her responsibility to register for that summer school session as counselor's do not have that information at the time of initial registration in spring.  If they fail to do this they must retake the subject during the course of the school year.
