Ms. Alexander

I was raised in a military family that traveled the world during my early childhood years. I began my early school years in Germany and later attended the International School of Bangkok, Thailand. By the time I was in high school my family had settled in Tahoe City, CA. I moved to Sacramento to attend CSU,Sacramento. While attending college I grew fond of the Sacramento area and decided to make my home here and raise a family. I have been a teacher in SJUSD since 1989. I started in the district as an English teacher at Rio Americano High School and later transferred to Encina so I could teach drama fulltime. I no longer teach Drama, but I continue to be an avid supporter of the visual and performing arts. After teaching high school for 23 years, I have found the last three years teaching English to our middle school newcomers an enriching and revitalizing experience. I have been at Encina for thirteen years now and have no intention of leaving until retirement. The one thing I appreciate and value most about Encina Preparatory is our rich, cultural diversity. We truly are a school that offers a "world of opportunity" to those who choose to become a part of the Encina family.
