Consequences

  • Step 1:  Silent Learning Center - One Period

    Step 2:  Extended Work Study
    Step 3:  Suspension, not to exceed 5 days, until parent conference
    Step 4:  One day suspension
    Step 5:  Three Day suspension
    Step 6:  Five Day suspension
    Step 7:  Five day suspension with recommendation for expulsion

Carnegie Positive Behavior Support Plan

  • These sixteen rules comprise Andrew Carnegie Middle School's Essential Rules.  Students are expected to know and thoroughly understand each of these rules and their consequences.  These are the most common causes for interruption of the instructional process at Andrew Carnegie Middle School.  All other behaviors prohibited in the California Educational Code and Penal Code will be enforced when necessary. 
     

     

     

    Rule 1 - Weapons or look alike

    •     Consequences begin at step 6.
     

    Rule 2 - Drugs, alcohol, illegal or harmful substance or look-alike substance

    •     Consequences begin at step 7 for furnishing.           
    •     Consequences begin at step 6 for possession or under the influence.
     

    Rule 3 - Tobacco or tobacco products

    •     Consequences begin at step 3 - work study option possible.
     

    Rule 4 - Fighting

    •     Consequences begin at step 5 for first offense.  
    •     Begin at step 6 for second offense.
     

    Rule 5 - Physical Assault

    •     Consequences begin at step 6.  
    •     Level 2 - Consequences begin at step 2.
     

    Rule 6 - Sexual Harassment

    •     Consequences begin at step 4.
    •     Level 2 - Consequences begin at step 3.
     

    Rule 7 - Vandalism of student, staff, or school property

    •     Consequences begin at step 2 and include restitution.
     

    Rule 8 - Theft

    •     Consequences begin at step 4 and include restitution.
    •     Level 2 - Consequences begin at step 2.
     

    Rule 9 - Defiance

    •     Consequences begin at step 2.
    •     Level 2 - Consequences begin at step 1.
     

    Rule 10 - Disrespect

    •     Consequences begin at step 4
    •     Level 2 - Consequences begin at 2.
     

    Rule 11 - Unauthorized Area or Closed Campus violation

    •     Consequences begin at step 2.
     

    Rules 12 - Threats or verbal abuse

    •     Consequences begin at step 2.
     

    Rule 13 - Prohibited items

    •     Consequences begin at step 2.
     

    Rule 14 - Obscene language, swearing, and derogatory statements

    •     Consequences begin at step 2.
    Rule 15 - Class disruption 
    • Consequences begin at step 1.
    • 4th violation - proceed to step 2.
    • 5th violation - proceed to step 3.
    • Meeting to include student's team of teachers.
