    Wellness Webinars presented by Kaiser Permanente takes a holistic look at health to help you stay physically and mentally resilient.   The series will take a summer break after the June 16th class.  Classes are free and open to all San Juan Unified School District employees.  Just click on the class title below for the registration link to the webinar:

    Western Health Advantage is proud to support the health and wellbeing of our community.  Join WHA in creating a fit and healthy Northern California region by attending any of the classes offered in the program - at no cost to you.  The program is open to everyone in the community.   Six weeks of virtual classes - May 18 - June 15, 2021
    Tuesday and Thursday 12:15 - 12:45 p.m. - Community fit movelab is designed to help you create a mindful and fulfilling relationship with movement.  It's a great class for both new and experienced movers that will challenge you with body-weight exercises, flexibility and mobility drills, balancing challenges, and meditation.  You'll not only learn about yourself, but have fun doing it.
    Wednesday and Friday 12:15 - 12:24 p.m. - Community fit stress reset is full of biobehavioral tools and tips to help you lower your stress fever before it spikes out of control.  You'll learn in the moment stress interrupters and long-term strategies for navigating anxiety.

    The SJUSD Wellness Committee is happy to announce HealthTrails online friendly healthy habits and fitness challenge which begins Monday, March 22nd and will run through Sunday, May 16th.  This challnege is open to all employees, including substitute staff.    Registration begins on March 9, 2021.  To register , please use the following link.  Deadline to register is Monday, March 22nd.  The first 200 employees registered will be entered in a raffle drawing.

    Employees may create a team of co-workers to help motivate each other along the trail.  Teams consist of 4 to 10 employees.  Go to register your team here.

    This spring, HealthTrails is permitting family members to join the fun on the trail and enjoy the use of the interactive wellness platform.  However, family members are not eligible to participate on a team and are not eligible for participation prizes.  If you have any questions regarding this wellness challenge, please contact Tran Vu at Tran.Vu@kp.org

    Drive-Through Flu Vaccine Clinics Administered by Kaiser Permanente


    Due to COVID-19 precautionary measures, this year the District will be holding our annual Employee Flu Vaccine Clinics as drive-through clinics.  Employees (including substitutes) may register for a drive-through appointment by following the step-by-step online scheduler instructions here. Employees must bring their ID card and own pen to the event to complete consent form.  Be sure to wear suitable clothing to receive vaccine on left upper arm.  Please do not come to your appoint if you are sick (cough/fever). Employees do not need to be a Kaiser member to receive a flu vaccine.

    Wednesday, October 21st from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
    Bella Vista High School (Front Parking lot - Please enter off of Madison)

    “Live Healthy. Live Well” Employee Wellness Program
    Volunteer to be your site’s Wellness Committee
    Communications Liaison

    The Wellness Committee is looking for volunteers to be Wellness Communication
    Liaisons at each site in the District. If you are interested in wellness and enjoy the
    team competitions that we have, this may be the perfect volunteer position for
    you. We need help getting our wellness message out. The wellness committee
    meets quarterly and needs help in getting the message out. We expect this role
    to require a minimum time commitment. We envision it consist of forwarding
    emails to the staff and displaying wellness posters or promotional material when
    there are events.
    As a thank you to the Wellness Communications Liaison for volunteering, Kaiser
    has put together a welcome gift. If you think that this is something you would like
    to get involved with, please contact Michelle Fischer at
    michelle.fischer@sanjuan.edu. Our goal is to have one liaison at each site.

    WHA members can access the WHA "Healthy Living" portion of their website for online resources addressing topics such as smoking cessation, healthy recipes, preventative health and more.  Please see www.mywha.org for a complete list of available topics. 

    Be sure to visit WHA's Healthyroads Online Wellness Portal - Track your fitness and nutrition, participate in challenges, and complete your personal health scorecard and receive valuable suggestions on how to improve your score and your health!  Do you have an activity tracker such as a FitBit or a Pebble?  Sync it to Healthyroads and seamlessly track your steps and other activities.  Healthyroads offers over 100 wellness videos and interactive learning sessions.  You can access Healthyroads through your myWHA.org account under the Healthy Living tab or register on Healthyroads.com.
