Principal's Message

  • Greetings Cottage Families,

First and foremost, I want to thank each of you, our wonderful staff, and our children for the perseverence,  grit, and grace with which you all have taken on the challenges of distance learning.  Our transition to distance learning was quick and despite all of the efforts of district and school staff, we continue to run into obstacles that hinder our ability to regularly engage our students.  We are continuing to work with tech services for those issues and have also shared some of the common problems our families have faced.  While we are still far from an ideal situation, it is getting better and we truly appreciate all your support to our staff and your children.

Our classes have been busy wrapping up assessments and you may see some schedule changes coming soon to your child's day.  Please know that any changes are due to our efforts to more effectively individualize your child's education and maximize the time we have with them and the work they are getting done.  If you have questions about their work, please reach out to the child's teacher.

Finally, as we continue to work in a distance learning environment, we will be sending home instructional materials on a monthly basis to help our students have the materials they need available for instruction.
