Greetings Cottage Families,
Happy New Year!
As we begin 2022 there is a lot of information that will be coming your way in the next several weeks that will need your attention. Next week you will be receiving a survey as part of our way to measure the climate and culture of the school. While we are glad to be back in school full time with our children, it has taken time to re-adjust to our classroom communities. Additionally, because of ongoing mitigation issues limiting families on campus, we are still trying to find ways to involve our families and keep our home/school relationships strong. This survey is one tool used by schools in the San Juan School District to measure how we are doing and we encourage all families to complete either the paper or digital copy that will be coming home.
As we begin thinking about next year, there will be an enrollment fair hosted at Greer Elementary School on Saturday, February 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for families to enroll new students. This is especially important for those families who will be enrolling TK or Kindergarten students as we have historically filled up in both of those grade levels early in the registration period.
Finally, I'd like to remind all families to ensure that students bring masks with them to school each day. If a student does not have a mask or needs a new one, we have disposable masks available at school but we are going through a lot of masks each day and we are also finding many masks thrown on the ground. While we want everyone to remain safe, we also need to ensure that we are caring for the environment and disposing of masks appropriately.
Thank you for your attention to these matters.
Respectfully,
Arthur A. Estrada Jr.Arthur A. Estrada Jr., Ed.D.Principal
