Welcome back and Happy New Year to all our LeGette families! I hope your break was restful and that you were able to spend quality time with your family, children, and friends. It is always great to see our students back after a long break – full of enthusiasm, great stories, and smiling faces!
During the last week of school prior to the break, Tangie Rutherford once again organized a super yummy LeGette Cookie Shop. Thank you, Tangie!! Parent bakers brought in dozens and dozens of homemade cookies, so staff could bag up some delicious treats. Tangie and her team of bakers did a great job. I’d like to thank the following parents for all their help: Robin Spronk, Cassidy Caskey, Tara Muchow, Kamille Morgan, Joy Boone, Kelly Fusfeld, Taja Ferrarini, Alison Michaels, Krystal Penny, Mikala Graf, Lauren Solomon, Stacy Brush, Keri Wanner, Sadie Smith, Kamalee Shurden, Joanne McConiga, and Jenny Jones. Thank you all!
Now that we’re back from the holidays, this is a great time to remind you about the importance of staying involved in our school. Challenge yourself to volunteer at least five-hours per month. This can include helping out in the classroom, taking things home to work on, or volunteering at a school event. Another great way to stay involved is by attending our monthly PTO meetings. Our next PTO meeting is January 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library. I greatly thank those parents who help when and where they can. LeGette is a better place because of your involvement.
Next week, teachers will be sending home paper parent surveys and most will have emailed a link to take the survey online. Your input is vital! It gives our staff valuable information on what’s working and what may need refinement. We’re here to meet student and parent needs. Please be sure to fill out the paper survey (translations available) and return it to school, or take the online survey by clicking HERE. On-line surveys are also in different languages. Only one survey needed per family. Thank you for your input and help! Deadline is January 24.
You don’t want to miss our upcoming Winter Band Concert. It’s being held on Friday, January 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the LeGette MP Room. I’d like to thank Mrs. Teresi for all her hard work with our band and choir programs.
Lastly, our PTO has two huge events coming up- our Pancake Breakfast on January 25 and Totally 80’s Auction Night on February 29 at the Folsom Community Center. You don’t want to miss these two events, especially the big evening event, full of food, auctions, gaming, and beverages! Information will be coming out soon on how you can purchase 80’s Auction Night tickets. A limited number will be sold. So, stay tuned! As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at school. Thank, you!Greg Barge
