    There is NO school in San Juan Unified School District on Friday, October 4 and Monday,  October 7. 

     

     

    Progress Notices

    The week of October 8, Progress Notices will be sent home for students who need improvement in academic areas, behavior, or work habits. Teacher conferences for every student will be scheduled during the week of November 18-22. If you would like to talk with your child’s teacher, please do not hesitate to e-mail or call and leave a message on the teacher’s voicemail.

     

     

    Phone messages during the school day

    The school office has been receiving a number of phone calls during the school day from parents asking to get messages to their child(ren).  These messages are often regarding pick-up arrangements. Many calls are within the last 30 minutes of the school day. Please be sure to let your child(ren) know their pick-up arrangement prior to the start of school as calls to the classroom disrupts to student learning.  Thank you for your assistance!

     

     

    Fall Carnival

    The 14thAnnual Fall Carnival is coming soon – so be sure to save the date – Saturday, October 12 from Noon to 5 p.m.  This is a fun day of games, entertainment, food, friends and family.

     

    Parent Volunteers Needed:  The Fall Carnival wouldn’t be possible without all the family, friends and community volunteers. Each class has a booth/game/activity and WE NEED YOU! Please donate one hour (or more) of your time to make your class booth successful.  Signup sheets are posted by your room parent or teacher in the class or you can contact the PTA at DPMPTA@hotmail.com.

     

    Student Volunteers – Community Service Credit

    Do you know a responsible high school or middle school student that needs volunteer hours? Contact the PTA at DPMPTA@hotmaiL.com if you know someone who would like to volunteer for the DPM Fall Carnival on October 12th.  It’s a great way to help the community while having a blast!

     

    Pink Elephant

    We are looking for gently used or new toys, such as board games, videos/DVDs, Legos, dolls, stuffed animals, books, sports equipment, etc. for redemption at the Fall Carnival. Please no broken or dirty items – and only K-6 grade age appropriate. You can drop donations off at the school’s main office. 

      

    October 31

    Some classrooms may have a Fall celebration; however, students should not bring costumes to school.  

      

    Red Ribbon Week

    Red Ribbon Week will be October 23-31. A volunteer is needed to help with activities during these dates.  If you would like to assist, please e-mail the PTA at DPMPTA@hotmail.com .

     

    Picture Make-up Day

    If you missed picture day, a make-up day is scheduled on Thursday, October 24. If your child had their picture taken, but you would like a re-take, you may send the purchased picture envelope with your child on October 24 for a re-take.  The purchased pictures must be turned in for a re-take.

     

    Yearbooks

    Reserve your yearbook early for the best price at only $12 until January 1, 2020.  After that date, the price will increase.  To reserve a yearbook, order online at YBPay.lifetouch.com with yearbook ID code 13028720.  Pre-purchases may only be done online. 

     

    Snack Donations Needed

    The 3 kindergarten classes are requesting non-perishable snacks that do not have any peanuts in them. Some suggestions are: Goldfish, Graham crackers, Individual applesauce, Wheat thins or other kinds of crackers, Granola bars. You can bring them by Room 1 or the office!

     

    Upcoming Dates - November

    No school on Monday, November 11th for Veteran’s Day and Tuesday, November 12th for Teacher Workday.

     

    Minimum Days/Conferences

    Parent teacher conferences are scheduled for November 18-22. School will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m. for grades 1-6. 

    All kindergarten classes will keep their regularly scheduled time.

     

    There is NO School November 25-29 for Thanksgiving break.
