Community Service
Students' community service hours for the trimester will be due on November 4th. 7th graders must have competed 4 hours of community service by this date and have the form filled out and signed by a supervisor (not a family member).
As a reminder, students may not perform tasks for family members or close friends. The point of this is to encourage students to be active participants in their communities.
Keep in mind that there are many different things students can do to fulfill their obligation, whether at school or in the community. The PTO occasionally offers opportunities to volunteer, such as at Kids' Night Out or the Harvest Festival, and you can always do chores or errands for neighbors, volunteer at the Salvation Army, Humane Society, public library, park and recreation centers, youth groups, churches, elderly homes, hospitals or preschools. If you have a question about whether a task will be accepted as counting toward your service hours, please consult with your teacher.
