• A little bit about me...

I have been a teacher since 1997.  I started teaching in San Juan Unified School District in 2000, and I joined the Mariemont Elementary family in 2001.  Over the years, I have taught grades 3, 4, 5, and 6.  I'm currently teaching the fifth grade and enjoy having the opportunity to help prepare our campus' oldest students for their transition to middle school.

When your student is in my class, they will quickly learn a number of things about me:  I'm a bit of an Anglophile (admirer of all things British), I'm a huge fan of Apple products and the Star Wars universe, and I love to read and travel.  In my on-going quest to visit all seven continents, I've been to: North America [Mexico, Canada, and, of course, the United States], Europe [England, Scotland, Germany, France, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Iceland, Ireland, and Northern Ireland], Asia [South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates], Oceania [Australia and New Zealand], South America [Peru and Colombia], and Africa [Morocco and Egypt].  One more continent to go!

Some of the traits I hope to help develop within my students would be an excitement for learning, a respect for those around them, and an enjoyment of their journey through education.
