    ​PTO Announcements for the week of November 12th

    Look for our weekly announcements to stay up to date on upcoming events, recaps and other important information!

      

     

    ***CAMP FIRE RELIEF FUNDS/DONATIONS***

    Are you hoping to aid those who have lost their homes in the devastating Paradise fire? We have been working to find the right connections to make sure our donations were going to serve those victims in a very direct and useful way. GRDC PTO will have a collection box in the office for items/donations. If you would like to send something in to help, we are asking for Gift Cards to local businesses in Chico area (Walmart, Target, Raley's, Safeway, Savemart, Costco, RiteAid, CVS, Kohls, Old Navy and Visa) and checks (payable to Neighborhood Church of Chico - note: Camp Fire Relief Fund). These will make the most impact right now, as the fires are still burning and many items cannot be stored or used. We are partnering with a few other local schools along with a Relief Center in Chico that is filled to max capacity with families who have been displaced because of the Butte County Fire. Thank you for your support!

     

    **COFFEE HOUR THIS FRIDAY**

    Bring your families to this fun filled event at 7:45AM on Friday!  Available for purchase are many delicious items, including coffee and donuts.  All items are $1.  Donuts sell out fast, so come early!  November coffee hour is hosted by 6th Grade.

    Featured Miners on a Mission: Butte County Fire Relief Fund/Gift Cards

     

    ***BUTTER BRAIDS***

    All orders will be delivered THIS Friday, November 16 from 3:15-5:00 PM. Items can be picked up in the walkway near the tile wall, outside the office. Please make arrangements for pick-up, as pastries and cookie dough will be frozen, and we have no way of storing them during Thanksgiving break. 

    If you can, please volunteer during delivery of the Butter Braid pastries and cookie dough this Friday, November 16th, from 2:45 to 5:00 pm. Please contact Olga Amador if you can help: 916-337-0481.

     

    ** BIRTHDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS**

    Birthday announcements for the month of December should be submitted by Friday November 16th.  If your child celebrates his/her birthday on a weekend their announcement will be made the Friday before. Holiday birthdays will be announced when we return from break.  Half birthdays (for those with summer birthdays) will start to be celebrated in December!!!

     

    **PENNY WARS: Starts on November 26th**

    1, 2, 3, 4, we declare a Penny War!!!  Each grade will have a collection container. GAIN POINTS by adding PENNIES, PAPER BILLS and CHECKS to your grade’s jar. SUBTRACT POINTS from your competition by adding SILVER COINS to their jar!!! When the war is over, the winning grade will receive a fun prize!!! Watch the competition in action as you walk through the quad or check out the bulletin board in the MP room to see how your grade is doing!

    **SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR: November 26th-30th**

    It’s that time of year again!  Come shop the Scholastic Book Fair before & after school in the library!  There are books & gifts for everyone. This is a great time to purchase holiday gifts for loved ones!  We hope to see you there!

     

    ** GINGERBREAD HOUSE & THE POLAR EXPRESS NIGHT: DECEMBER 6th**

    Please join us for a fun evening filled with holiday fun.  There will be gingerbread houses available for pre-order, dinner, the Polar Express & Hot Chocolate!  Kids are welcome to come in their PJ’s and bring something to snuggle with while they watch the movie! Flyers will be coming home right after Thanksgiving break.

     

    **DINE TO DONATE/CRAB FEED KICK OFF: December 12th **

    Who wants Pizza???  Come to Mountain Mikes from 5-9pm for Dine to Donate & our Crab Feed Pre-Sale Kick Off in the Party Room!  Join us to register for mobile bidding and grab your tickets to our largest fundraiser of the year!  Tickets will go fast! 

     

    **CRAB FEED: ITEMS, DONATIONS & SPONSORS**

    --We are actively looking for help with gathering items and donations for the Crab Feed. If you would like to help, please consider reaching out!
