August 11 Meeting of the Board of Education

  • The next regular meeting of the board is scheduled for Aug. 11. You can view meeting agendas and minutes of past meetings. The meeting is scheduled to be called to order at 5:15 p.m. and begin with closed session. The open public portion of the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. 

    The meeting will be held via the Zoom webinar platform and streamed via YouTube. Links to join the Zoom webinar and view the YouTube stream will be posted on this page approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. 

    The board welcomes public participation and comment is welcome on items before the board. You can submit a comment for the board members' consideration by using this form. Comments submitted prior to 6 p.m. on Aug. 11 will be provided directly to the board for their consideration. Comments submitted after 6 p.m. may be read out loud during the meeting. Alternatively, members of the public may also join the Zoom webinar platform and offer a comment via audio during the meeting.     Board Responsibilities

    Among its many responsibilities as the official governing body of the school district, the Board:

    • Sets district policies and goals
    • Decides how to prioritize and spend the district's funds
    • Keeps in touch with other school boards and government bodies
    • Oversees employee relations
    • Approves contracts
    • Establishes curriculum and standards
