Club Live (CL) and Friday Night Live (FNL)
CL and FNL are statewide youth development and prevention programs. Club Live (Middle school) and Friday Night Live (High school) programs are designed to build leadership skills, provide opportunities for community service, and prevent alcohol and drug use among teenagers.
School chapters are the core of these programs. Chapter activities are designed to encourage positive peer influence and provide opportunities for leadership. CL and FNL participants and Advisors support the development of alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) prevention activities such as lunchtime events, Red Ribbon Week, and other school wide activities on their campus.
Club Live and Friday Night Live Advisors are responsible for the following:
Hold a minimum of 3 chapter/leadership meetings per month throughout the school year. (NOTE: A Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) staff will co-facilitate all chapter meetings with the Advisor)
Promote club and recruit student participants on their campus
Act as a liaison between the chapter and the county CL and FNL offices, parents, school faculty, administrators, community, and the SJUSD Prevention Office
Complete end of year program activity report and feedback form
CL and FNL Advisors must commit for the entire school year and be available to participate in various chapter, school and community events
At the end of the year, Club Live and Friday Night Live Advisors will receive an honorarium for their commitment to the program.
