Violin class meets in the music room on Thursdays from 1:10-2:10.

The purpose in creating a string program was to strengthen the Arts in education, give children who may have no other resources an opportunity to study music, and to encourage community support by capitalizing on the community's talents such as with the interaction of professional musicians with students in our schools.

The violin program establishes two small group violin classes (35 students), where students are taught to care for their instruments, apply self-discipline in practicing, learn proper violin technique, learn an assortment of pieces, and perform publicly.

Performances in the community are inseparable to strengthening the Arts in education. Children can learn purpose, confidence, and excitement by preparing for performances. The school, its student body, families, and school community become partners with Arts education through exposure to and interest in the efforts of their children.
