• Essential items for success...Math 8

     Supplies Needed

    1. A math journal for bell work and notes.

    2. Plenty of graph paper and ruled binder paper .

    3. Two (2) sharpened pencils (NO PENS ARE ALLOWED IN CLASS).

    4. A scientific calculator to use at home (not mandatory).

    5. An open mind and a willingness to learn.

    Homework

    Students can find all homework on this page.   Homework will be posted the previous Friday

    for the following week.  The purpose of homework is for review and to help prepare

    for the next assessment.

    All homework is to be completed on a sheet of lined paper.   Students should show all work with answers filled in the right hand column.  Homework is checked daily and turned in on Friday.

    Do NOT tear sheets from the book!

    *Homework will usually be assigned three to four nights per week.

    **Important Note on Homework -- You should spend about 30 minutes max on your homework.  If a particular page or assignment posses a great challenge, have your parents write a quick note on your homework to let me know that you put in the time!

    Student Absence / Tardy

    It is the responsibility of the student to make-up any tests or class-work they missed. A student is considered tardy if they are not in their assigned seat when the class bell rings.  Three tardy days in one quarter will result in a referral and a call home.

    GRADING

    Academic grades are based on the combined percentage of all tests and class work for each QUARTER.  The scores earned on assessments is the bulk of a students grade.

    A = 90%+

    B = 80 – 89%

    C = 70 – 79%

    D = 60 – 69%

    F = 59% and lower
