ECE integration information

  • A preschool student looks through a magnifying glass. In the fall of 2015, San Juan Unified rolled out a prototype designed to start the integration of its early childhood education and extended learning programs into the TK-12 system.
The long-term goal of the effort is to ensure continued high-quality education, alignment of expectations and services, collaboration among all program and school staff members, and increased student achievement at all ages. In the short term, families of students in the infant/toddler, preschool and Discovery Club programs involved in the prototype are likely to experience greater communication with the school site administration and better integration of those programs into the campus culture.
The five-year integration plan was approved by the Board of Education last spring to better allocate district resources and ensure continued quality offerings for San Juan Unified students and families.
