    Boxed Learning Teams

    Self paced book studies focused on cultural proficiency for staff.   The Equity Department will purchase books for identified teams and professional growth hours may be earned.  See attachment.

    Online Equity Learning

    SJUSD has unlimited access to an online equity training library.  Staff may earn professional growth hours with the completion of each course.  See attached flyer.

    Restorative Practices Cohort Training  

    SJUSD is offering two sessions of Restorative Practices trainings for school sites this year:  October 9-10,  20 18 and February 12-13, 2019.  Sites with 5-8 participants will be given top priority.   It is recommended that sites have established structured positive behaviors systems.  If  sites are currently engaged in PBIS and/or LST training, it is highly recommended to delay restorative practice training to another year.  Attached is a flyer, please have teams sign up through ERO or http://bit.ly/RP18-19.

    Museum of Tolerance

    The Museum of Tolerance is a partner to San Juan Unified in advancing anti-bias education, inclusion, and equity through unique professional development programs. Set in the immersive, experiential learning environment of the Museum of Tolerance in LA, participants are challenged to examine the Holocaust in both historic and contemporary contexts, to confront all forms of prejudice and discrimination, and to assume responsibility for positive change. The program features innovative methods to promote self-reflection, critical thinking, and action planning.
