    • The 40 Developmental Assets  Parent Involvement activities are based on "asset building". The 40 Developmental Assets are "common sense" building blocks of healthy youth development that help all young people succeed by protecting them from risky behavior and by encouraging positive behavior.  Search Institute, a nationally known educational research organization has identified these 40 assets--or opportunities, skills, relationships, values, and self-perceptions--into categories such as family boundaries, family support, homework, and parent involvement in schooling.
