CERT Graduation Drill - Sacramento Fire CERT is a team of community members working and/or residing in Sacramento, CA and surrounding communities who have been trained, in cooperation with the Sacramento City Fire Department (SFD) to respond to an emergency in their neighborhood, workplace, or wherever the need may arise. As part of our disaster preparedness training, we conduct two graduation drills per year, providing graduates with a disaster simulation that they must work in, assessing damage, performing search and rescue functions, and triaging and treating patients. Sacramento CERT needs volunteers to roleplay as victims for our graduates. Victims will be provided information on an injury and will portray an injured victim so our graduates can practice search and rescue, triage, transport and treatment of live victims. Our Fall Academy Drill will be held at 3230 J Street in Sacramento on October 1st at 8:00am. Victims should arrive in casual clothing (jeans, closed toe shoes, sleeves/jackets as weather dictates) and be prepared to act out various injuries. Minors are permitted to attend so long as a guardian also participates.
This event is free to the public and benefits our civilian first responders by providing invaluable experience. Be prepared to act your heart out! For students requiring community service time, we can provide sign-offs or letters as needed.
Questions regarding the event can be directed to Sacramento CERT by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
